Aristotelis Chatziioannou (co-founder and Chief Scientific Officer of e-NIOS Applications) is Principal Researcher of the Metabolic Engineering and Bioinformatics Group of the Institute of Chemical Biology, National Hellenic Research Foundation and member of the Board of Directors of GR-NET. He holds a degree in Electrical Engineering & Doctorate in Metabolic Engineering and Biomedical Informatics from the National Technical University of Athens. He has participated in numerous funded programs and co-authored more than 200 articles in international journals and conferences with more than 1,300 references (h-index: 21). His interests cover High Performance Big Data Analysis, Automated Computational Workflow Development, Translational Bioinformatics and Biomarker Development and Distributed Computing. e-NIOS, is a spin-off of the National Hellenic Research Foundation, targeting the intelligent  analysis of Biomedical and Genomic Big Data. e-NIOS was considered a success story, during the Greek crisis, by the European Commission, receiving seed funding, from the PJ Tech Catalyst venture capital of Piraeus Bank.
